This fabulous 20th century French antique Demi-John has a lovely dappled glass effect towards the base, almost slightly beaten making it very interesting and the glass has a striking green tint. It has a rough cut glass rim and bubbles from the original glass blowing process. The top is not sharp but gently smoothed with a rather decorative trim, which were probably impressions from where the glass was clamped. 
 
It is slightly irregular in shape and full of character with no seams. It would have been mouth blown freely. Not into a mould. These older vessels are increasingly harder to come by now. 
 
It is in wonderful condition and looks equally as effective empty or displaying seasonal stems.
